Jesus speaks to God for believers

Heb. 5:11-14   The author of the letter to the Jewish Christians criticises the Jewish believers for being slow to understand the Christian message. They are like infants who still need milk rather than solid food.

Heb. 6:1-12     He encourages them not to abandon their new faith in Jesus, but to go on and gain a deeper understanding of the Christian message.

Heb. 6:13-20   Like his promise to bless Abraham with numerous descendants (see Genesis 22:16-17), God’s promise to bless all believers is absolutely certain. It is as though Jesus has gone through the curtain of a heavenly ‘temple’ – like a high priest – and into the Most Holy Place to plead in God’s presence for those who believe in him.
