How Christians should behave

1 Thess. 5:12-18 Paul asks the believers to respect those who teach and pastor the church in Thessalonica. He encourages them to do good, to help the weak and to stir up the idle. “Always be joyful. Pray continually, and give thanks whatever happens” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Tug of war

"Always be joyful ... and give thanks whatever happens.”   (1 Thess 5:16)

1 Thess. 5:19-24 He warns them not to restrain the Holy Spirit or to despise inspired messages. Rather, they should test inspired utterances to judge whether they are really from the Holy Spirit or not.

1 Thess. 5:25-26 Paul sends his greetings and asks the believers to pray for him.

1 Thess. 5:27-28 He urges them to read his letter out loud to all the believers, then closes with a farewell message: “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you” (1 Thessalonians 5:28).
